Youth of the Year
The Colorado State Youth of the Year Program is designed to promote and recognize service to Club and community, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life. Clubs select a Youth of the Year who compete in their organizations to represent them at the state level. State winners receive scholarships including a 4 year scholarship to Adams State College. The State winner entered the regional competition. Regional winners receive a $5,000 scholarship and enter a national competition held in Washington, DC. The National Youth of the Year receives an additional $10,000 scholarship and is installed by the President of the United States.The 2010 State Youth of the Year National winner is Kristen Casamier.
National Kids Day
National Kids Day is the first Sunday every August. It's a day to celebrate and honor children through the gift of meaningful time. Meaningful Time is time spent between adults and children that both consider engaging, important, and enjoyable.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA, in collaboration with Kids Peace, and other leading youth-serving, community and educational organizations, is spearheading National Kids Day.
